About the ACHIEVE-1 Study

The ACHIEVE-1 Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes.
You may be able to take part in the ACHIEVE-1 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Have a BMI* of 23 kg/m² or greater
  • Have not used insulin to treat your diabetes
  • Have not used any oral or injectable medicine to manage your diabetes in the last 90 days
*BMI stands for body mass index. If you do not know your BMI, please contact a healthcare professional.

About the ACHIEVE-2 Study

The ACHIEVE-2 Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults who have been unable to control their blood sugar levels (glycemic control) with metformin. The study will also compare the effects of the investigational medicine on glycemic control and body weight with a marketed product.
You may be able to take part in the ACHIEVE-2 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Have been on stable diabetes treatment with metformin ≥1500 mg/day for at least 90 days
  • Have a BMI* of 23 kg/m² or greater
*BMI stands for body mass index. If you do not know your BMI, please contact a healthcare professional.

If you are interested in participating, the study doctor and staff will review additional eligibility criteria with you and answer any questions you may have.


You will take the study medicine orally once daily for 40 weeks.

About the ACHIEVE-3 Study

The ACHIEVE-3 Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults who have been unable to control their blood sugar levels (glycemic control) with metformin. The study will also compare the effects of the investigational medicine on glycemic control and body weight with a marketed product.
You may be able to take part in the ACHIEVE-3 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Have been on stable diabetes treatment with metformin ≥1500 mg/day during the 90 days prior to beginning the study
  • Have a BMI* of 25 kg/m2 or greater
*BMI stands for body mass index. If you do not know your BMI, please contact a healthcare professional.

If you are interested in participating, the study doctor and staff will review additional eligibility criteria with you and answer any questions you may have.


You will take the study medicine orally once daily for 1 year.

About the ACHIEVE-4 Study

The ACHIEVE-4 Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes who are at risk for heart disease or stroke compared to insulin therapy. The study will also compare the effects of the investigational medicine on blood glucose and body weight with insulin therapy.
You may be able to take part in the ACHIEVE-4 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Take at least 1 oral medicine to manage your diabetes
  • Have a BMI* of 25 kg/m2 or greater
  • Have or are at risk for heart disease, stroke, or other blood vessel diseases, or have kidney disease
*BMI stands for body mass index. If you do not know your BMI, please contact a healthcare professional.

If you are interested in participating, the study doctor and staff will review additional eligibility criteria with you and answer any questions you may have.


You will take the study medicine for at least 1 year (but potentially up to 2 years or more). The study may continue beyond 2 years until all the information needed by researchers has been collected.

About the ACHIEVE-5 Study

The ACHIEVE-5 Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults who have been unable to control their blood sugar levels (glycemic control) with insulin glargine.
You may be able to take part in the ACHIEVE-5 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Have been on a stable dose of insulin glargine during the 90 days prior to beginning the study
  • Have a BMI* of 23 kg/m2 or greater

You may be able to take part in the TRANSCEND-T2D-1 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Have a BMI* of 23 kg/m2 or greater
  • Have been unable to control your diabetes with diet and exercise alone

The TRANSCEND-T2D-3 Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
You may be able to take part in the TRANSCEND-T2D-3 Study if you:
  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have type 2 diabetes and moderate or severe chronic kidney disease
  • Have been unable to control your blood sugar with insulin glargine or similar medications with or without metformin and/or certain sodium-glucose inhibitors
  • Have a BMI* of 23 kg/m2 or greater
